7 more days of work...it's sad but the countdown is on, because I am getting to the end of my patience with some of those little monsters...!
More importantly, today makes the 1 year mark of Brooke Johnson's accident...it's weird to think it's been a year-I drove by and there was a bouquet of flowers at the spot. It was really sad. I hope her family has healed somewhat, considering they have to drive by the road practically everyday.
Now, an interesting discovery...yesterday my mom and I went to the Street of Dreams thingie at the Newcastle Golf Course. We were walking through the houses (which are just so beautiful by the way) and by the front door there's a sign for each house that says the constructor/builder people, who the interior decorating was by, landscaping, and so forth. Well this one house on their sign was Boitano Construction, and my mom was like, "remember that teacher at your middle school? Wasn't that his last name? This isn't him obviously...Boitano's a common name..." And I said, "yeah, he got fired, remember? He was a pervert" Well anyway, we're walking through, and at one corner I turned around and saw this picture hanging on the wall- it was a portrait of Mr. Boitano, his wife, and daughter...I just was like, "Mom! What the heck?! That's him!" And the whole rest of the night we were just sooo confused. See, he did some things that teachers just shouldn't do, especially for a seventh grade audience, and people's parents always complained, and he would bring in his girlfriends to class and they'd sit on his desk, and well, anyway, he just made some weird remarks to stuff, and was letting us watch way rated R movies ("related to class curriculum") without permission when at the time, we can all remember that a permission slip had to be signed by parents just for PG-13...LONG STORY SHORT: he got fired from IMS. But what we couldn't figure out is how the heck he ended up starting a construction company out of a teacher's salary... you just don't do that, you know?! So either he inherited a relative's business with the family name (which he would still need basic knowledge to build the homes) or he led a double life all along...Cuz now he's building way nice homes, (I have nothing against the homes-they are gorgeous! just him I wasn't a fan of...) in nice places, featured in these contests and what not... it's just all so weird in my mind...he scarred so many of us little middle schoolers at the time (ask me in person one day about the details). Yeah, if any of you reading this had him, you know what I'm talking about... Just thought I'd share cuz we just thought it was sooo weird.
