We were strangers, starting out on a journey
Never dreaming, what we’d have to go through
Now here we are, I’m suddenly standing
At the beginning with you
No one told me I was going to find you
Unexpected, what you did to my heart
When I lost hope, you were there to remind me
This is the start
And life is a road that I wanna keep going
Love is a river, I wanna keep flowing
Life is a road, now and forever, wonderful journey
I’ll be there when the world stops turning
I’ll be there when the storm is through
In the end I wanna be standing
At the beginning with you
We were strangers on a crazy adventure
Never dreaming, how our dreams would come true
Now here we stand, unafraid of the future
At the beginning with you
I knew there was somebody, somewhere
A new love in the dark
Now I know my dream will live on
I’ve been waiting so long
Nothing’s gonna tear us apart
This is the song that's been ringing inside my head for the past 4 days!! We used to sing this during our glee club days in high school (he!he!he!) and scream the song at the top of our lungs. It was nice you know, coz when I hear this song now, it reminds me of how calm and simple things were back then.. As opposed to today's events and realities which I will not talk about here =)
So anyway, I was able to watch a video in youtube that people made using this song and I remembered Anastasia and the story! I have this deep interest towards Russian History (actually only about the Romanov family), that during the summer when I was in highschool I'd spend 4 hours of my days watching Rasputin and Nicolas & Alexandra. So the Romanov family used to be the monarch that rules Russia and had this extremely lavish lifestyle! They were the ones who came up with Fabrege eggs (which was used to store their medicines) and they had i think 5 daughters and the youngest son named Alexi who was sick with what's that sickness wherein your blood won't clot and you have a heck load of internal bleeding? Well that's what he had. And so the parents were devastated because Alexi was supposed to be the future ruler but he was always sick. So the mom, Alexandra, found this magician hullaballoo guy named Rasputin who would apparently "cure" Alexi. The monarch welcomed Rasputin into their family and let him enjoy their lifestlye plus he had so many women and so many drugs. The mystery is that the King & Queen could not let go off him because he was indeed curing Alexi in different ways. It even came to a point when Rasputin was dictating to Alexandra what she should do to Russia and Alexandra, being the helpless mother she was, would obey him. Until the Romanovs lead Russia to it's valley and the Bolsheviks began a Revolution, overthrew the Romanov family, and thus the birth of Communist Russia.
I would always cry during the part of the movie when the whole Romanov family was sent to the basement for a "photo session" (this was already when they were in exile) but instead the soldiers came and killed them all. This is where Anastasia comes in. Legend has it that one Romanov daughter survived the massacre and developed amnesia. So there. I don't really do much justice in this post on how cool I think the Romanovs were but anyway.. watch the movies! Hehehe.
So I ask you, would you rather be a member of the Sopranos Italian Mafia or a member of the Romanov royalty???
You know what my answer is =p
