Pennsic

I was unsure if I wanted to go to Pennsic this year. I did a list of pros and cons and in the end went for a few days.

My main reason for not going is that I am not a camping fan. Now most people would say "why go if you don't like camping" and that is a valid question. The idea of going to Pennsic is what appealed to me but I could not put my finger on it. I am going to try and put into words what I liked about Pennsic.

Sunday and Monday night I went with Heather and Dubh to see Commedia Del Arte. After the Commedia the three of us started walking back to camp. Going down the hill we had a view of the lake and the tents with torches lighting the way. You could hear the middle eastern music and people laughing and talking. There was almost a full moon and it gave me a peaceful feeling. I love that part of Pennsic.

Saturday morning when I woke up and went to the bathroom the sun was just rising. There was mist coming off the water and it was peaceful. All around the lake there were pavilions and the early morning sounds of life waking up. I love this part of Pennsic as well.

Monday afternoon I was sitting in the shade reading a book. Every so often I would look up and see the fighters returning to camp from battle. They came back in groups, all dressed in the same colors. It was exciting to watch them walking back after war. I also love this part of Pennsic.

These are memories that touch my heart and stay with me so when I think about Pennsic these are the memories that haunt me, they are the reason I want to return.

I had some wonderful people help me prepare for Pennsic and set up my tent which helped me to enjoy it but in the end I am still not a great fan of camping. LOL
