I'm normally not a very political person;my years with the IWW put an end to that. Today though, I was happy to be part of a piece of history. I have the highest hopes that profound change will take place in this country; change and healing. I would like to think that Obama can bring this country together; create an equal playing field for the marginalized groups in this country. People are expecting a lot out of President Obama and he will need time to undo the damage. I hope we can be patient.

I'm getting ready to send two giant boxes of baby items to my dearest friend Schmoopie out in Montana. She's due in late February and I have been on a baby-buying-spree. This is her first and she is the first of the women that worked with me at Lunahsea to get married and be with child. Schmoo has that fairytale life that I have to admit I'm a bit envious; Schmoo is someone that everything seems to fall into place for. She's also one of my few Christian friends (I personally am a Christian, but most of my friends just aren't)and I have to think the strength of her faith has something to do with her successes in life. Not Christianity per se, but the belief in something that is bigger, more powerful than us. I credit her with bringing me back to my faith...something I had strayed from for a long time. In all the time that I was studying Eastern spirituality, I never felt connected...no matter how hard I tried. I was brought up a Christian, so it was always with me. I did my exploring and experimenting and now I'm home...and very comfortable with that. I am totally accepting of other points of view and I never judge someone else's spiritual perspective. I believe in tolerance, love, and the inherent goodness of all.

Wow, how did I get there?

I think I'll enjoy a cup of tea and start cleaning.I have some company coming from Geneseo tomorrow and I'll be out of the house part of the day tomorrow, so best get to it.

Spent some time on Etsy last night. What beautifully handcrafted items they have there. I found a woman in San Francisco that makes the coolest yoga pants. I love them; so much more comfortable than jeans. These actually have an attached "skirt" in a contrasting color that gives them a very unique look.

A cup of decaf pomegranate green tea coming up...
