(no subject)
It was Pam's day off from work, but she still couldn't keep herself from waking up early. She tried to stay in bed longer, reasoning that it was really cold out still and if she got up, she'd have to get dressed and even then she'd still probably be cold. So, ultimately, it was clearly best for her to just stay in bed, cocooned under the blankets with Jim.
After what felt like at least an hour, Pam realized she wasn't going to be able to go back to sleep and gently nudged Jim awake. He responded by just burying his face against her chest and tightening his grip on her.
"Jim.. wake up," she murmured, dropping her mouth to his ear. "C'mon. We have to go to the clinic today, remember?"
This time he groaned and rolled onto his back, rubbing his fists against his closed eyes. "Yeah," he mumbled, dropping his hands to his sides. Pam leaned over and dropped a kiss on the tip of his nose before slipping out of bed.
She dressed in a hurry, partially because it really was freezing and partially because she was really nervous. By the time Jim was out of bed and dressed, Pam was tugging on her boots and zipping up her coat.
She shot him a slightly nervous smile as the walked outside, hand in hand, and he leaned over and kissed her forehead. "There's nothing to worry about, you know," he pointed out gently.
"Yeah, I know."
The walk up to the compound seemed longer than usual to Pam, but she didn't say anything and was simply glad when they finally reached it. It was warm inside and they stopped inside the rec room to leave their jackets there instead of carrying them to the clinic.
Pam hesitated just outside the door and Jim paused, giving her a concerned look. "Hey... Don't worry, okay?" he said, moving back over to her side and wrapping an arm around her waist. "I'll be with you the whole time. It's not a big deal. It's just a visit."
When they finally walked inside, Pam smiled when she saw Dr. Fraser was there. She really didn't want to deal with someone new today. Especially since she'd already seen Dr. Fraser about her possible pregnancy once before.
