pam

tired, but satisfied

Man, I am tired. Tom was out tonight so I had to do everything and I just ran out of steam after the first round of dishes. I swept the floor three times today! I had no idea having kids would make everything so much dirtier. Somehow in between the rain we managed to make it to the playground, although Jimmy was quite cranky once we got there. He seems to want to nap really early some days. He got over his crankitude for a little while, once it became clear I wasn't just going to up and leave, although he only lasted about 40 minutes before he just gave up and started asking to eat and go home. He liked "running" in the grass the best. And of course he fell asleep in the car on the way home, which is always fun, as I am scared to move him and wake him up and cause him to only have a 30 minute nap... Tom was out, as I said, so dinner was slow going. I ended up feeding jimmy leftovers early, which he wouldn't eat. It seems he is on a "gapes" (grapes) and cereal only diet this week. I think it has to do with his last two canines coming in with a vengance. I just feel bad when he misses a meal because I don't have those specific things to offer him! He actually did eat some mac n cheese for lunch, but I think it was only because he was so hungry after refusing breakfast. He really just up and started hating yogurt for some reason! Oh, and I did get him to take a few bites at dinner by pretending to feed everything to his baby first, making happy baby eating noises, then going "your turn"! That was fun while it lasted. But trying to feed this boy is driving me crazy!

Anyways. I didn't get to eat until after I put Jimmy to bed, because I didn't even finish cooking until then! Which of course meant I spent most of the rest of the evening cleaning.... What was I going to say about that? I can't even remember. Perhaps I will just go to bed. No pictures tonight, Jimmy was super fussy today so not many smiles to be captured. Although I did elicit a few!

Oh, and our bikes have been rehabilitated - I put new innertubes on all wheels, as they hadn't been used in probably 2 years, and cleaned and lubricated everything, adjusted the brakes and the derailers, tightened a zillion bolts on Tom's bike, and pretty much spiffi-fied everything. I started to install the baby carrier on the back of my bike, only to find I was missing a hex nut somewhere and had to stop to run to the hardware store. Soon, we will have fun bike riding time!!! I am so happy Jimmy is finally old enough to do outdoor stuff (besides walking) that I enjoy!
