Well, the hotel room on Thanksgiving was actually kind of nice - we ended up getting a suite, so the leftovers I packed up for us were easy to heat up and eat, and Jimmy slept quite well. The following week they came to dig up our yard:
It actually didn't look too bad when they got done, although there's no grass. They might have to come back and dig it up again. Apparently the grade is negative in parts of the main drain of our house, heading out to the street. Ugh.
The day after Thanksgiving we took Jimmy to an afternoon hockey game. It was... not very fun. Jimmy was pretty fussy and I spent most of the time trying to find a non-crazy spot to nurse him and walking him around and trying to keep him happy. Don't think we'll be taking him again until he's older. It was SO MUCH easier when he was 3 months old - he slept through it! We did get a cute picture, though:
Saturday we went and cut down our own Christmas tree! It was so cool, at an orchard right down the road from our house. Here's a picture of Tom cutting down the tree!
We had a cookie party at our house on Sunday. The neighbors with small kids came - Beth and Alessandra and families. It was fun, although we only got through one recipe each, and my gingerbread wasn't as good as I had hoped. Jamie is supposed to send me her recipe, which I remember being soooo good, so we'll have to give it a try. I've got a cookie swap next week.
After that, Jimmy got sick with a head cold, which gave him an ear infection, and things have been rather sleepless of late. We had to cancel all our playdates. Blah. I'm feeling a bit housebound at the moment. Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon.
