So, the buyer for our condo is rescinding her offer. She says there's too many projects. There are two - painting and the roof. The rest we're doing (or rather would have done) before she bought. And the painting already had a quote - all she had to do is call the guy and he'd come out. So, as of today, it's back on the market. I'm trying really hard not to cry, because this means we might lose the new place we offered on as well, and we'll never find anything as nice as that.
To top it off the people we're trying to buy from are acting really flaky. We asked for a credit towards the damaged siding (it's this old stuff called masonite - gets moisture in it and rots), and also a credit towards a termite treatment, and they came back with a total of $1000 in credit - less a quarter of the total costs, and then said they were too stressed out by it all and didn't want to be contacted about it until they came back from a trip next week. Except the P&S (formal agreement) was supposed to be signed on Friday... We're filing for an extension, but our realtor doubts it will get signed, so... I don't know. It was such a nice place, had everything we want, but it's looking like it's not going to work out now.
Our realtor, Julie, suggested we look into short term housing, apparently there's a place in the center that does it. We'll see if they'll allow newborns - most places around here have lead paint and can't have children under six.
I hope something works out... I'm feeling really discouraged at this point.
