Family visit
Grandma and Grandpa Flanagan came to visit this weekend!
Now little Jimmy has met all his grandparents. He is doing well. I think he's growing pretty good. We have the two week appointment on Wednesday. He's still sleeping a lot, and I have to wake him up at night to eat, but overall I think he's a little more wakeful. I can't wait till he starts smiling...
His umbilical stump fell off yesterday, so today he got his first bath. Which was good, because I did footprints and hand prints for the baby book yesterday, and I had a hard time getting the ink off! He didn't like the newborn tub much, I think it must have been a little uncomfortable, because when I rinsed him off in the plain basin, he seemed to like that a bunch more. But he is now a squeaky clean boy! No pictures, though, it was just me in the house...
My recovery is going okay. I have this thing called a hematoma which the doctor says is probably the most painful postpartum complication. She said I wasn't being a baby to take the pain meds and then gave me a prescription for percoset and said I'd just have to wait for about 4 weeks for it to heal, and the pain would gradually diminish as it healed up. At least it's not still growing and spreading... that was really freaking me out. It already feels a bit better, but I'm still taking the percoset when I'm up and about. I just want it to stop hurting! I think the stitches are mostly healed, and I'm able to get up and do a lot more now - almost back to normal!
The house stuff is about the same - we are in negotiation after the inspection results on both houses. Money is a tight squeeze - I hope it all works out! It looks like we are going to have to remove all of the knob and tube from our apartment in order to close - that could get pricey. *sigh* I'm just trying not to freak out. Somehow... it will work out.
