I don't need to go on about 2008 being the most difficult financial year of my life by far, and overall one of the most challenging years in general. I will say, I am on the verge of a great job offer, possibly tomorrow, and was just offered a bump-up in a second interview with someone else. My guess is they don't want to lose out on me.
