the one thing about dc which no one told me is that the broadcast tv here is really entertaining. all the countries and organizations with agenda are on the airwave here. so we have two cctv channels, one devoted to the lavish documentaries about esoteric topics like the lost cities of Kuchi and Qun Opera, all subbed in servicable english. also two NHK channels, which shows mostly entertaining travelogues in the japanese style, and nature shows about native cultures of the world which i'm sure would not be considered politically correct anymore in the west, and of course the random variety show. and al jazeera, which is also in the eye candy documentary business.
