Shantotto was well aware she was taking a rather heavy risk; a well calculated one, of course, but still, a risk. That didn't particularly bother the Tarutaru, however. Easy and safe was hardly any fun, after all.

Thoughtfully, perched on a stool, she surveyed her work: an oversized pot had a bubbling, steaming mixture in it that glowed an eerie purple.

While there were certainly a long list of things that could happen, there were two things Shantotto hoped to accomplish and, with any luck, she would achieve both. However, she would settle for either, at this point. There was still a chance, of course, neither could work out as anything could throw off the spell she was about to attempt; that was part of the risk. This world lacked many of the ingredients she normally relied upon in Vana'diel. It had taken a great deal of time to track down suitable replacements and even then, there was certainly a lack of guarantees. It would have been a different matter, of course, had she been in Windhurst, but here? Here was different.

It was exhilarating.

This new spell had been on her mind for some time now, long before she'd arrived in Paixao. Having mastered warp spells, the Tarutaru had set her mind on going far beyond any spell had done before. The next step, as it were. No one from Vana'diel had ever attempted such magic. She would be the first! She already was looking forward to seeing the look on the minister's faces when she would announce her creation. But, well, she was getting ahead of herself.

The stars, real ones, glowed above in the cool evening air. She was not under the domes, you see, but rather on top of them. It hadn't been difficult for the mage, of course, however perhaps some would think it an odd place to weave a spell, but not for Shantotto. This was absolutely the most perfect spot -- that she was certain of.

"Well, I do believe I'm as ready as ever. It's time to begin my greatest endeavour!" she said to herself, as she lifted her hands, a similar glow forming around them. Waving her hands above the pot, it's glow intensifying as she began to cast magic into it.
