Knuckles stood straight up from where he had - he thought? - fallen asleep, looking around him in bewilderment. He was pretty sure he was still asleep; was this all a dream? The Guardian pinched himself, frowning at the pain - definitely not asleep anymore.
What was this, then? He couldn’t recall moving, and he knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that nothing like this was anywhere to be found on Angel Island. A thought hit Knuckles, and he grimaced, standing up and glaring about him.
Robotnik. Was this his doing? The scientist had, after all, proven himself to be crafty, and Knuckles had been forced to see that he had not only underestimated the man, but that Robotnik had played him for an absolute fool. He was the only one Knuckles knew of who was capable of such tricks.
Determined to put a stop to this and return to his beloved island, Knuckles squared his shoulders and walked forward.
