She hoped they weren't late! Too late, anyway. But she had wanted to make sure Sora was remotely settled, and then she had gotten some groceries, and then she made sure to put those away. And she still wanted to pop by Cid's Shop at some point, but that would have to wait. Everyone needed some fun in their daily routine, even if somewhere across the city there was a monster tromping over buildings.

Kairi didn't want to think about that right now. She popped on in through the doorway to the Wild Ginger, a smile on her face as she glanced back to Sora, a shine in her eyes that she was glad that he was here - really here. She would try not to lose him again.

Looking back... she... didn't recognize anyone.

Sora had spent most of his time following Kairi around, occasionally getting distracted with exploring the city, and generally trying to figure out how everything worked here. It seemed like money wasn't an issue, if it grew on trees like that, and that was good. But he hadn't seen anyone he knew yet. No sign of Riku, Donald, or Goofy. They must have really not been here.

But Kairi was here! And there was a party to go to!

"So, who's throwing the party?" Sora asked.

Kairi made her way in a bit, glancing around at the crowd before pointing towards a fairly noticeable figure. "That guy, I think. Akutare. He's a bit odd." She chuckled at the thought. With a small pout, she sunk back. "I should have invited Naminé to come... I don't think the girl gets out much," she said, more to herself when the thought crossed her mind. Although the small girl probably wouldn't have accepted. When Kairi had mentioned introducing her to Sora, she fervently passed on it. Too bad.

Sora stood on tiptoe to look around the crowd and at the person Kairi was pointing out. He had quite a hairstyle--and purple eyebrows--but it was nothing more than a momentary observation to Sora. Maybe he had just gotten used to stuff like that.

But then he had something more important to focus on.

"Naminé? She's here?" Sora gasped, his mood changing to a mixture of surprise, happiness, and seriousness. If she was here, and wasn't part of Kairi... What had happened?

Was time really this messed up here?

Kairi had snagged some food from a table, sitting up next to it and turning to blink at Sora. "Huh? You know her?" Naminé had expressed not wanting to see Sora, even though Kairi thought that they'd get along great... Was it because they actually had met before? Had something happened?

She frowned, looking uncertain and deep in thought. She never would have expected something like that... and poor Naminé, since Kairi kept trying to insist it... But no! Maybe she was just over thinking things...

"Yeah! She's--ah--you're--" He had no idea how to explain it. "She helped us get home!" That was true; he could cover the Nobody thing later.

If she was here, then the Organization having control of this city was somehow more credible; maybe Nobodies could come back after they had been created once? Sora wasn't fond of the idea of having to beat down the Organization every few months. He wanted to go back home at some point, and be with his friends.

"How long has she been here?"

She's her what? Sora wasn't making any sense...

But if the girl had helped them out sometime in her future, then she supposed it made some sense. Still, she knew that she was missing something more than ever now. She hated being left out of the picture..

"I'm not really sure," Kairi answered. "Longer than I have. With um... Repliku? Yeah..." That was certainly odd too. She had really thought for a moment that Riku was back... but it hadn't been him.

"Repliku?" That name got a blank look, although Sora wondered if he should have recognized it. Perhaps Namine knew who that was? He needed to talk to her. But if she had known he was in Paixao before he did--Kairi must have told her, right?--then why hadn't she come on her own?

All the more reason to find her.

But if Kairi had been here for--months, she'd said?--then Namine... "She must have been here a long time, then."

She waved a hand through the air, a confused look over her face. "He... he looks like Riku. But he's not him. It's really weird. I haven't talked to him much." When she finally had met him face to face, she was 'ill' at the time. But he had argued with Riku when he was here and... "I don't really know. They could've come afterward. I only met her because Riku had said I should... but I'm not sure why. He's gone now."

With a sigh, she slouched back. "I don't get it."

"Weird," Sora agreed as Kairi explained Repliku to him. He would have to meet Repliku, too. Surely he knew Riku if he looked like him? Though there was no guarantee the doppelganger was a good guy, though. All the more reason to meet him.

It seemed like Riku was from when Sora was, too--or at least around the same time. That was good. Though, if that Riku was gone, could an earlier Riku show up? That would be... Even more confusing than everything was right now.

but how to explain Naminé to Kairi? "She's... She's like part of you."

It was pretty weird. Kairi should have tried to find out more...

Kairi continued to look at Sora strangely. She still wasn't following what he was saying, and she could tell that even he was having a hard time trying to explain to her. "A... part of me?" She had been feeling like something was missing... "Ah... how...?" Literally? Figuratively? ... no, no... but how could he mean literally? How would they have even gotten separated if it was literally?

The more she thought, the more confused she got.

"Well..."

Sora paused, wondering how to explain it. It didn't make total sense to him, either, but he would do his best. Kairi had been out of the loop for so long that he really wanted to include her this time, especially now that she was the one with the most experience here.

"She's a Nobody, like the Organization, only not, because she's--well, they're all parts of someone else, not the heart part but the leftover part and--she's yours?"

He grinned a bit sheepishly; was he making any sense?

Kairi knew about Nobodies. Riku told her, at one point. But that didn't make things much clearer. "Like... Roxas?" she asked, looking up to Sora. She didn't meet Sora's Nobody, not really. He fought Sora and then left, and Kairi had barely even seen the boy. She was pretty sure he was long gone, anyway. "But I've never been a Heartless, Sora..."

She did remember when he was a Heartless... an odd thing to wake up to after dreaming for so long... But she knew it was him. But...

"Well, your heart was in mine, right?" Sora said. "Back then."

Hidden away in his, and he had released it by stabbing himself, willingly making himself into a Heartless to save her. But if that meant he had a Nobody, than it meant she did, too, right? Because her heart was in his and he stabbed it.

or something. It was hard to figure out, really. Nobodies were confusing.

"Naminé helped us when we were fighting the Organization!"

Kairi nodded a bit and seemed to accept that response. It... sorta made sense. She wasn't a Heartless, but when Sora released hers and became one himself... her heart kind of got lost in the mess. Or something. It sounded like a good enough explanation anyway.

"I haven't spoken to her in awhile.... I said you two should meet, but she insisted that you shouldn't..." But if she helped fight the Organization, then why not see Sora again?

"Why would she say that?" Sora asked, his face the picture of genuine confusion. Had something happened to her? Maybe with all of the Organization here she was being held captive, or something equally horrible.

"We should go find her!" Sora said, without stopping to think to share the thought process behind his decision.
