Content: A very confused hedgehog takes a quick tour of the island and finally enters the city...still very confused. Didn't really accomplish much there.
Setting: Muspelheim Gate
Time: Midmorning
Warnings: None at the moment.
Sonic woke up with a killer headache. This was pretty surprising to him, as he hadn’t been aware he’d fallen asleep in the first place. Oops. He sat up, rubbing his forehead and muttering, and only really noticed his surroundings after he’d stood up. Wh- why was the grass white? And where were the trees? And the animals? And all of South Island, come to think of it? And what were those huge domes? Where was he?
Only one way to find out.
He took off running, heading out away from the domes, hanging a sharp right when he hit the coastline and continuing on, running in what didn’t seem like a circle until he ended up right back where he started ten minutes later.
Okay. So it was an island, and there was nothing on it except some little building on the other side and those huge domes in the middle. The little building hadn’t looked very promising when he’d passed by it, so he made his way to the domes and the gate he’d seen - quickly, of course. This place was weird, and he didn’t want to spend a whole lot of time here if he could help it.
The line at the gate wasn’t long - only two people - but it was two more people than Sonic was willing to wait for. He stood behind the second one, tapping his foot impatiently and waiting for him to move. Sonic had places to be, and this sure wasn’t one of ‘em. “C’mon, c’mon…finally” he muttered under his breath as the person in front of him finally moved. He zipped into the spot the person had left, intending to get as much information as he could from the gatekeeper. “Hey! D’you know-”
“Name?”
He blinked, not expecting to be interrupted. It didn’t take him long to get back in the swing of things. “Sonic’s the name, speed’s my game,” he announced proudly, repeating an oft-used introduction. “Now listen, d’you-”
He paused again as a small black box and several pamphlets were shoved at him. “Thank you!” the gatekeeper told him cheerfully, already turning to the next person in line. “Next!”
“But- hey- wait a minute!” Sonic protested, bound and determined to get the information he was after. The gatekeeper, it seemed, had no intentions of sharing it and was already focused on the next person in line. Grumbling a bit, Sonic turned and entered the domes, walking for once as he examined the object and papers he’d been given. It would have helped a lot if he could read.
