He woke to the feel of hard stones under his body. For a moment he was confused as to where he was, until the residing pain in his chest reminded him of what had happened. Ah, yes. He'd impaled himself upon the Beast Spear, that accursed demon spear, and he was sure he was dead. Even though he didn't believe much in human ideals, he had to wonder: was this some sort of heaven, then?

...No. It couldn't be. It smelled far too strongly of humans, and not enough of nature. His idea of heaven was of a nice little mountain area, full of trees and rivers; a far cry from this city. Perhaps some kind of hell, then. Given that he'd taken to murdering some number of people, he wouldn't be too surprised if there were some sort of human god out there that had decided to play with his fate a bit. As much as the stink of humans made his fur stand on end, he wasn't going to give into such destructive desires again...nor would he hide who he was. His pride wouldn't allow him to be content with just hiding among the humans. As well, it was a bit too late to be disguising himself anyways; a few of the others waiting on the gatekeeper had already seen him, and were either giving him strange looks or talking to others and pointing back at him.

"Yeah, you just keep on pointing," he muttered to himself, showing off quite a few of his teeth in a smirk in the process. Not surprisingly, a gap formed between him and the rest of the crowd. That suited him just fine. He still hadn't quite come to grips with the whole idea of not hating humans, and it suited him better if they stayed away from him.

They had come a bit closer by the time it was his turn with the gatekeeper, though they still kept a respectful distance away from him.

The gatekeeper, giving him barely more than a glance, asked, "Name please?"

"Tch, I get an interrogation as well, it seems," Juro scoffed. "Better make it quick, I don't want to sit around all day answering questions!"

"Only one question here. Sir, your name, please. After that you can go on your way."

A low growl came from Juro as his paws twitched. He really wanted nothing more right now than to go run off somewhere, before his temper was frayed by the closeness of the others in line. He clutched his chest for a moment as a twinge of pain came through again. "The name's Juro," he said to the gatekeeper.

He looked at the journal which was handed to him. Though he wouldn't have needed it, a collar of sorts was attached to it - the gatekeeper had seen enough animals go through that he'd grabbed one of them for Juro, just in case. Juro almost didn't take it, since he'd answered the gatekeeper's question and was prepared to just leave now, but the gatekeeper had such a 'take it or else' look on him that the kamaitachi finally gave in and snatched the journal, huffing to himself. As soon as he was through the gate, he bolted away, in the hopes of finding somewhere around here where he wouldn't have to put up with humans in any way.

That is, assuming it wasn't the hell he thought it was...
