2009, Thus far
Well, 2009 has started off rather strangely.
Jan 4: The water heater in our house explodes leaving the carpet in our living-room quite soggy. The landlords bring over a fan and a space heater to dry it out instead of pulling it up to check for mold, which we all suspect is there.
Jan 5th: Huge rainstorm. Our ceiling upstairs caves in. Again more mold, and water damage. The landlord calls a roofer, who can't do anything short of repairing the entire roof.
Also, the Landlords inform us that they haven't received our rent checks. We tell them that Curt mailed them on Dec 26th. They ask us each to write them another check, which we all do, except Curt who wasn't home. Double check with Curt, who claims to have mailed all our bills on Dec 26th.
Jan 6: Winter quarter classes start.
Jan 7: Bellingham school district cancels school all week due to flooding. Which means for me, no hours at work. Also, I can't make any progress on my Youth-Theatre project... which has been continually pushed back due to things beyond my control. Ie: Snow, bizarre district policies and now flooding. BAH.
Jan 8: Receive a notice saying the electric company hasn't received our payment. Again, confront curt who says he mailed the bills. Landlords call to say they received our initial payment, postmarked Jan 5 - THREE weeks after Curt claimed to have mailed it.
I wonder what's in store for me next...
