43. Aestheticism The Religion of Art in Post-Romantic Literature. By Leon Chai. Not a helpful book for me, or one I would recommend. www.amazon.ca/Aestheticism-Religion-Art-Post-Romantic-Literature/dp/0231072244
44. The Cardinal's Snuff Box Henry Hallam Not an aesthetic novel, more like a Catholic conversion romance novel with some nice descriptions of Italian scenery. www.amazon.com/Cardinals-Snuff-Box-Henry-Harland/dp/055400917X/ref=sr_1_3 Read this one entirely online for free because I am tired of paying 15 dollars for typo-ridden, feeble, inapt, non-academic editions of deeply unpopular books. I would however really like a Kindle because I can get similarly weak online PDFs of the unpopular books to read on the eye-friendly Kindle for free. Free is good.
45. Belle Du Jour the Diary of an Unlikely Call Girl Anonymous. Really funny and interesting. I followed the blog before she got a book deal and it has lots of overlap with the blog but with a few more entries about clients and odd sex things and enough addtional entries to make the story of her social life make more sense through its many changes. Doesn't double as porn though. At least not for me. www.amazon.com/Belle-Jour-Diary-Unlikely-Call/dp/0446577251/ref=sr_1_2 (my hilarious tid bit about the amazon page is that they've hyperlinked anonymous, not to other books by Miss Du Jour but to all anonymous books and the leading book if you click on to the next page is the classic fake drug memoir thing Go Ask Alice. Funny.) Will happily loan or give away my copy if anyone is interested, otherwise it goes into the yard sale boxes.
Time for a horror movie and snacks. Yay!
