So, I dreamt about the end of humanity last night. It was creepy but really riveting. First thing was that people really came together once we knew how soon everything would end. People were fighting it, but trying ot make those last weeks good for each other and themselves. People I know who barely speak to each other due to bad behavior in years gone by were friends again; people loved hanging out with their families. The dream took place in a camp in the country (evidently the cities were too dangerous/polluted/something to be safe). The odd thing was that we had more than enough of everything: food, games, toietries, whatever. People were marking paths in the camp with trails of plastic wrapped bundles of paper towel rolls. Very odd. For a while in the dream it was just fun and games in the camp; dealing with a rainstorm, having fun, meeting everyone's families. Then my dream suddenly switched to the last day. People knew and accepted that after bedtime we were all going to die. No one was fighting it or wailing or upset. The cafeteria was serving spaghetti as our last meal (even in my dream I thought "Italian, for the last day of civilization? Sounds good to me.") and after dinner people were going to do karaoke. *shrug*
My other news of the weekend is that my working out is paying off. I have newly visible muscle with definition I've never had before. Yay! I'd noticed that a bit in months past with my legs, but it was subtle and my legs still have a ways to go, but this is much more dramatic. I am super excited for good tummy muscles, even though almost no one will ever see them.
The lame part of the weekend was me getting lost in Orlando and not making it to thing I'd driven to Orlando to do. 4.5 hours wasted and more than 8 dollars in tolls made me a bit grumpy. My directions just totally skipped a step or two and left me stuck on an expressway with no indication of what exit to take. If this were the first time google directions had failed me I'd not be very grumpy, but this is probably nearing the 8th time. So, I want a GPS.
