A couple of months ago, I got this random friend request on myspace from a stranger who lives about 30 miles from here. I don't usually friend strangers...although I'm more apt to do it on myspace than facebook. My myspace page is public so it's not like they can't see all my information anyway. I asked if I knew him, and he messaged back that no I didn't know him yet, but he was new to myspace and wanting to make some friends. Seemed harmless enough. We exchanged messages back and forth for a month or so...found out he was married, ex-military, served in Desert Storm, owns a construction agency, and has two young autistic sons. Finally he asked for my phone number so he could send me pictures. He is big into hunting/fishing/outdoorsy stuff so he would send me pictures of gorgeous sunrises and wild animals and just pretty outdoorsy things :)
So today we finally decided that there is no reason why we shouldn't just meet in person. I mean, he only lives 30 miles away and is in my town all the time for shopping, etc. So he stopped by the library and we chatted for 1.5 hours. He is a really nice guy. We seem to really have a good connection friends-wise and it doesn't seem awkward that he's a man and I'm a woman, although he did repeatedly tell me how attractive I am after he met me in person (he said, even prettier than in your myspace pictures :P)
So I am trying to tell myself that he is just looking for a friend and doesn't have ulterior motives. Wade knows and doesn't mind me having a guy friend (although he is pretty open-minded in general!) I guess time will tell but for now, he seems like who he says he is, just a man looking for friendship.
