Columbus Day?
I'm not gonna complain about an off day, God knows we need more time away from school. But does it ever occur to you that we are taking part in celebrating a day when Columbus took this land away from the natives? Or that we're honoring a man who called the natives savages, took their land, put his damn flag on it - and poof, it no longer was the land of the natives? Or are we celebrating the fact that, if it weren't for him, we wouldn't be here? But is that true? Many schools have taken this "holiday" out.
And again, I'm not gonna complain about an offday....but it -seems- corrupt.
Anyways, I'm off to San Diego...a place were on weather.com...it is 65, YES! And then tomorrow I shall be off to Magic Mountain for thrills and fright fest with my family. Possibly home on Sunday....but from what I'm hearing, I'll be back on Monday.
