http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12762368/ What a sad thing. From all of this, it appears that the Duke lacrosse team has had its season cancelled and its reputation ruined based on the false testimony of a drunken stripper who didn't quite know who she fucked the night before. Obviously, the evil white boys on the ship must've done it, because college kids are awful people. Especially white ones; they're all awful people who want nothing more than to rape African-Americans. I suppose the mantra of "innocent until proven guilty" never quite occurred to the college officials or to the public as a whole.
Now, my words are operating under the assumption that the team is innocent and although that's how it appears, they have not been proven innocent. But as I said above, someone needs to abide by one of the defining tenets of our judicial system, no? I am no more in the wrong than the hundreds of articles I have read damning the players. The whole ordeal makes me sick, because I can't help but think that if some sad excuse for a human being wished to accuse me of rape, my name could be dragged through the mud in the same way.
