Before I left the Bronze I’d taken another bottle of scotch from behind the bar and made fast work finishing it off as soon as I got back to the crypt. It meant, thankfully that I hadn’t had to deal with anymore of the…dreams, but it also meant that I didn’t remember a bloody thing about the night before, at least after I left the bronze ( Read more... )

I laughed and shook my head. "Tricks? I'm not going to swindle people Spike. But," I smiled over at him. "I'd like it if you taught me a bit, I never really learned, just kind of did." I shrugged and closed my eyes. "It'll be nice to have a change."

“You know I think the chip, the misfiring and that, might be getting a bit better...That one was bad, but it hasn’t happened in a while. Maybe it was just the stress of the dreams or something?”

Looking over at him I sighed and propped myself up on my elbow, studying his face for a moment. "Maybe." I said cautiously. "Well, now that you h-have the herbs it should help and you w-won't have to worry about the chip firing because of the dreams."

I still wasn't sure if he was playing me or being serious, I needed to be careful. Spike might not be able to hurt people physically but he still can manipulate people. I remember what he did to Willow and the rest of the group last year, nobody spoke to each other for days.

"Let's just worry about this bit by bit; is...is that ok?" I bit my lip nervously trying to think of who I could go to, to find out about the chip and if there was a chance it really could be breaking and hurting him.

Well now that sounded nice and promising, didn’t it? I was starting to think I was really getting somewhere here and it’d probably be best to keep it up while she was all cute and vulnerable, best time to put the boot in was when they were down, so to speak.

“Sounds okay to me, but don’t do anything you don’t want to do. Bloody god knows I don’t deserve it,” I said looking away.

“Thanks for all this,” I said looking back at her. “Let me know if there’s anything I can do in return yeah?” I said, resting a hand on her knee. Mmm, she was nice and warm…bet she had killer legs hidden underneath those hippy skirts. “I mean that too, really.” I smiled.
