{text}As far as I'm aware, there have been no exceptions to the two-day gap that occurred prior to my arrival in the city other than those who were brought here in roughly the same timeframe
( Read more... )
I can't recall a city-wide memory loss besides the "big three" where everyone felt a sense of the city's population increasing and two days' worth of memories were lost. However, there have been times when a resident has their chip removed that sections of the city have memory loss or amnesia and that sort of thing. I'm pretty sure, but not certain, that everyone in those sections of the city had some memory loss during those times.
And yeah -- the communicators are pretty random with how they work. I've only been shocked by it once after around two weeks of not using it, and it was painful.
I think people tend to grab books from the library and just read them at the place they're staying at.
[ooc: No, I don't think my post is supposed to have all the action; it was just supposed to be the big red flag that the event is a go. That's why I thought an open log at the log community would be best for people who wanted the logs and to have detailed fun with spooky things, and people who don't want to bother with long logs can just do regular journal posts and do a few comment logs there /o/]
You do not think you are thinking too narrowly? I asked after widespread effects, not merely widespread memory loss. If this is indeed a citywide disturbance, it is doubtful that 'memory' is the only thing that can be affected. I am already aware of the recent bout of paranoia and violence, but that was limited to those with chips, or so I hear.
Perhaps rubber gloves would help next time? [somewhat amused]
Naturally; some do like the atmosphere. [he is a library dweller :|]
[OOC: Oh, okay! I misunderstood and thought I was doing it wrong fff. |DD An open log sounds good for everybody who wants something more involved. ♥ /will probably just do some commentlogs]
Mm. It just seems that the effects like that tend to be memory loss. I honestly can't recall much else besides the sudden paranoia and violence.
I can't be expected to wear rubber gloves all the time. That's why most people choose to suck it up and use the communicator, including the non-social ones.
The atmosphere of a library is nice. To be honest, I haven't had time to sit down in the library and read for quite some time. It sounds like a really nice idea, though.
[ooc: No worries. :> I just have super fail!description, pfft.]
And you were alive in your world prior to being brought here? [seemingly out of the blue] I find it hard to believe there was nothing truly unusual in the five months you were here previous.
[a quiet snort, but he doesn't bother pursuing the matter]
You cannot find the opportunity? [poor normal human]
...I think so. Unless I suddenly had a heart attack and died without knowing it. There were some... odd things that happened I would prefer not mentioning. But, for the sake of research, there were some sudden deaths... and marijuana infused brownies... the water turned to wine.... Those were not good times.
I am physically incapable of visiting a nice quiet place like the library. There is this powerful force that keeps me glued to the high school against my will.
Ah--no. They all happened here. Weird things happened back home, but nothing like this. Things back home always had a logical explanation, although sometimes they were rather outlandish.
The name of that powerful force is Suzumiya Haruhi. I'd steer clear of her if I were you.
...Ahaaaaah. Well, in my world, monsters don't exist. At least, they didn't. But it seemed all the problems we'd been having were caused by monsters. Other things that were supposed to be fantasy ended up being true as well....
See, if I could just get to the library, I bet Haruhi wouldn't come near me. Unfortunately, she's usually got a death grip on my tie.
[ooc: Sorry I never answered this one. D: LJ told me it was deleted so I was waiting for you to post again, and when you didn't I found the thread normally... and look, you had already posted. Cryyyy.]
I would believe that, except I know that those sorts of things have only been in existence for three years. Personally, I wish they didn't exist at all and that everyone was normal.
Even if I was naked and had no limbs, she would cling to my torso and never let me go.
[ooc: Pfft. You're not slow. You're way faster than I am. |D Although, I have food poisoning and am tired, so things I tag back with may not even make sense! ...Like Kyon's last line. It was waaay dirtier before I changed it.]

Rubber gloves every two weeks if you are forgetful shouldn't be such a chore. Then again, if you are forgetful in the first place...
I believe I will be acting on that idea until things calm down here.
[OOC: \o/ No big! Text mediums and all that. ;)]

I was here for five months. The scientists apparently returned me back home for about a month and returned me two weeks ago or so.
Ah, see--if time slips by you, it's doubtful you can remember.
Having the opportunity to go someplace quiet must be nice. [Jeeealous.]

Oh? [you can tell he's suppressing laughter here] And do you know the nature of this force?

I do not think she and I have reason to cross paths in the first place.

And, unless you're completely boring, Haruhi will find a way to talk to you.

[now he sounds amused] I have little to worry about, then. Especially if I will be spending my time at the library in the first place.

Have you tried reducing the number of handholds on your person?
[OOC: FFFff you got to it in the end, didn't you? Silly LJ. I should be apologizing for my uber-slow tagging. XD]

Little wonder you seem resigned to your fate, then. However, for those with no supernatural powers, that may be the safest option.
[OOC: FFfff. /patpat They do make sense! ... although now I want to know what the line was before.]
