Day One: Favorite lead female character
Day Two: Favorite supporting female character
Day Three: A female character you hated but grew to love

Day Five: Favorite female character on a male-driven show

Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I suppose there are other options out there, but nothing comes to mind as quickly and thoroughly as this one. I love this show. I love the number and variety of the women portrayed. I love the fact that they are very different characters. Buffy, Willow, Cordy, Anya, Tara, Joyce, Dawn, Kennedy, Faith, Harmony and all the others are all VERY different people with different motivations and they are usually not simple motivations either. (Harmony, maybe) So many shows chose one trait and make that into a female character, while the men are often more nuanced. The brainy girl, the princess, the fighter… This show doesn’t. This show also addresses issues facing women in intelligent, interesting ways. It doesn’t shy away or ignore them. I could go on…but yeah, you get the idea.
