So on friday I was having a bit of computer trouble and then my CD burner went out on me. Instead of trying to fix my computer as it was nearly 4 years old I had a great idea and headed off to circuit city. (As I will NEVER shop at Best Buy for anything ever again. New toys are always good. I'm got everything set up the way I want on this thing except for some reason it isn't accepting my old hard drive as the slave. grrr..

Try cable select on your jumper.. that's usually the most common issue of why a slave fails. Just an idea :)

I did all of that and it still wont accept it. I checked the bios and it has been told to look for a slave drive. I dont know if the fact that my new hard drive has 8 pins and the old one has 10 jumper pins is making a difference or not.

open boxes can be the best. I found that the only thing I was missing was the copy of office 03 that was supposed to come with it. Luckily I have copy at work that I can use to unlock it. We bought it for business and we can say that my computer is being used to do work ...
