Last night I went to Cafe Marx where one of my housemates bartends and another one was spinning. It was a good time, though odd; there were maybe 9 people in the place the whole time including the 3 of us and we were definately the only people under 35 in the place. I ended talking to this guy with grandkids who smelled but showed me a neat puzzle. Unsettlingly i also found out that one my housemates is leaving to go back to Buffalo. I am however getting his mattress.
The great internal debate of today is whether or not to go to New York City thursday and friday and part of saturday. I was originally planning the trip with Becky, her sister dorms in Columbia so free room and their would be a free broadway show involved also, but now the transit workers have gone on strike making a boondoggle of Manhattan. I"m feeling like saying "damn those torpedoes full speed ahead" and going up there anyway. Why it might be slower and more expensive i'm sure we can get around with taxis. And i still think we can find ways to have fun in a partially shut down city. Suggestions anyone?
