Sailing directly into the sun

Ron Moore feels "very satisfied" with the finale of Battlestar Galactica and makes no apologies for Kara Thrace's whatever moment.

Sigh. This was a smart show, it really was. It had all the workings of good science fiction, of dangerous drama. It took into count water supply and food division and government structure and politics and the feeling of family and friendship as life drifted through space and nothing more. Then everyone went to Africa to farm and fade away. Save for Head Angels. Frak that. Really, frak that. I'm just going to imagine the series ended a few seconds after the fleet jumped away from Cylon-land. It's much more satisfying that way, if it a bit concise. But I'd rather have answers or no answes (not wild speculation up for grabs on brilliant white pedestals), and for a show that's mostly about dealing with tough questions, we all got screwed in that department.

The finale had its moments. Sadly, I hated most of them.

TV science fiction like this really only comes around once in awhile. And so we wait again...

rant, stupid is as stupid does, battlestar galactica
