Saturation Point

When I was growing up, I had a theory about why successive generations of parents turned into fogies. The theory went like this:
The brain is like a sponge. Throughout our life it soaks up new ideas, new music, new technology, etc. until finally it reaches a saturation point where it has no more room to process change. At that point you become a fogy. Some people reach saturation point earlier than others but eventually everyone gets there and poof! they're a fogy.
I wondered at what point I would get to my saturation level.
Today I had an indication of that.
Megan sent me a simple text message, "Good morning Dad".
On my phone the message read:

Good morning Dad
Call 1 250 8889999

I panicked! What's wrong with Meg? I tried calling several times but there was no answer.
When I finally got hold of Meg, she explained that the 'call line' is just the return address of the text message and not part of the message itself.

I am clearly one step closer to fogy-ism; I cannot figure out text message technology.
It is a slippery slope from here.
Cheers!
