This was an okay episode. It was nice to have one big focus in the episode instead of 5 storylines. And the only major revelation was that Bennet and Angela are still working together.
Bennet's still morally gray. The trio of Matt, Mohinder and Peter are still manage to be just as smart together as they are alone which is pretty sad. Nathan is a complete jackass. Angela has very nice legs for an older woman and I'm completely jealous. Peter still thinks that just holding a gun is enough to get his way.
Plus no Hiro or Claire this week as well. Claire gotten somewhat better even if she still has the same exact lines she used when she was 15. She is extremely redundant. I thought she was 18 already cause I'm surprised she hasn't moved her ass out. Hiro on the other had was funny in Season 1 and was just about the only one who like using his powers. That was fun to watch. S2 he got stranded and since I forgotten most of what happened there, it might as well have never happened. S3...his character was always about destiny but now it's gotten out of hand. It's to the point where I kinda wish he could his powers back so he could get lost in time whenever he whines about destiny or he's meant to do something or that he's supposed to be the hero. We get it, you're meant to be a hero and whatnot, so please instead of whining about it, do something so I could like you again Hiro. You're like 30, try to act a little less like a 12 year old. I like Ando better even if he does make stupid surprised faces all the time (no one could be that surprised that much or is it just me).
Also what bothers me is that Matt has the future painting ability. I just don't understand is why it's necessary to have someone who paints the future considering two characters have already had it. The first of which it made sense to have the ability because he was artist. Then he died. The second guy seemed he was only made to fill the void the first one did when he died and they realized no one on the show had the ability. The he also died only to "give" the ability to Matt and then be around as a spirit guide. And we all know that Matt's not gonna die and the
unfortunate implications that stem from all that jazz...actually it's more than unfortunate, it's just plain insulting.
From a technical view, I could see why it done; it's cheaper to paint the future than see it as there are less scenes to deal with and the biggest fx they have to deal with is contacts and fuzzy vision. But as part of the story, it would have been cooler to see Matt's ability actually develop in a way that makes sense and not because someone on the show needs that ability. He telepathic, if the writers wanted to they could have made him clairvoyant as well. If anything I'd rather have seen Peter or Sylar gain that ability back and see what they would do about another city blowing up. That at least would have made sense than randomly having an ability that had nothing to do with your original power.
I missed the escapades of Sylar & Luke this week though.
