^ "Safe", But Not Too Sound

Whenever the government says, "Trust us, we''l keep you safe.", YOU HAD BETTER WATCH OUT. Because you're getting ready to give up some Liberty for that so-called "safety", whether you realize it or not.

Ever since 9/11, the government has been "keeping us safe" at the expense of our Freedom.
- The so-called & horribly misnamed "PATRIOT" Act, passed just 45 days after 9/11, effectively killed our 4th, 5th, & 6th Amendment rights.
- The abuse being dished out to American citizens at airports by the TSA, in the name of our "safety", is nothing less than a COMPLETE RAPE of our 4th Amendment rights.
- The recently-passed (though constitutionally illegal) S. 510 (a so-called "food safety" Senate bill), would give the government control over our food.

Are we really this weak & pathetic that we need the government to be our Big Daddy & keep us safe? Beyond national defense, the government has no business OR constitutional authority "keeping us safe".

Even before 9/11, government interference in our lives, for our "safety" (of course), has left us anything but.
Take gun restrictions, for example.
When a place is deemed a "gun-free zone", it keeps people from having the basic right of protecting themselves. People who obey the law will abide by the restriction. Criminals couldn't care any less about what some sign says. They can come in & shoot many victims, knowing that they're defenseless. And this is supposed to "keep us safe".

"Those who would give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin

"I prefer liberty with danger than peace with slavery." - Jean-Jacques Rousseau

If one gives up their rights to be "safe", then are they REALLY safe?
If one lives but is not free, then do they REALLY live?

"Live Free or Die" - NH state motto
