it has been aproximately 176 weeks since i updated.
ah, well here's a place to start.
i am distraught. the event that has occurred is a matter of utmost seriousness, and it must be documented (for future reference). but i would be slighting it if i merely typed it up on word document and stored it away with the dead starfish and sunken submarines. and xanga is much too public. therefore, it shall appear here:
a good friend of mine participates in a school activity with me. elections for leadership positions in this activity has come to due, and i turned out to be the only one running for the position that i wanted. the advisor confirmed that i did not need to write a speech if i was the only candidate. therefore, i didn't. i decided to create a mini powerpoint presentation formatted like a theatrical trailer accompanied by dramatic discovery channel wild chase-like music. it was not meant to be serious. i barely talked about myself, aside from incorporating a few slides with flashing images of all the flyers i created for the club.
however, this afternoon, as we were about to present our speeches/presentations, my dear earnest friend announces that he is running for the same position as i. appalled. it is perfectly natural and logical for me to suspect deliberate deception and sabotage from this friend, is it not?
i feel i did a good job presenting my lesser prepared but very snazzy powerpoint. rather than telling what i can do, i showed what i can do. may the best candidate win.
