Sidney: "No daughter of mine is going to marry a Quadling."
Sidney and Estelle Daley are both from the Magic Isle City in Gillikin Country. They have one daughter named Adora. They own one of the largest and most successful stores in Central City: Daley’s Emporium is located in the Uptown District of Central City (it was in this store that Adora met Wyatt Cain, a young police cadet).
Wanting nothing but the best for their daughter, they arranged her to meet a young aspiring businessman named Harold Brockington at a party. They were pleased that their daughter hit if off with the young man only to see her break off the relationship a couple of months later. Sidney became enraged when Adora told him that she was seeing a Quadling who was attending the Police Academy. Estelle, while not happy, soon realizes there is no chance of changing Adora’s mind.
Sidney threatens to cut Adora off from the family fortune if she marries Wyatt, but Adora has her own threat: she’ll marry Wyatt in Quadling Country and never speak to him again. Estelle loves her social position and feels it will be threatened if Adora marries a Quadling.
Pompous and close-minded are words used by Travis Cain to describe the Daleys.
First seen in The Academy.
Another shot of Sidney.
I'll add more later.
EDIT: Erin reguested that I post a teaser of the dinner conversation between Sidney and Cain.
Now picture this very fancy restaurant. You know the kind where they wipe the crumbs off the table before they serve the main course, the waiters wear tuxes (without the jackets), and you have to wear your finest to even get through the door.
“So, Young Cain, is there a difference between bull meat and steer meat?” Sidney asked.
Wyatt lowered his menu and stared across the table. Was this his interrogation? Beef? “Well, steer meat is more tender, juicier, and has more flavor. The mass of a bull is by the neck, but on a steer, it’s on the back half where you find your prime cuts.”
“And what is the difference between a bull and a steer?” Sidney asked.
Wyatt looked at Sidney with an arched brow. “Simply put, sir, a steer has no balls.”
Estelle choked on her drink as the liquid went down the wrong pipe. Adora spit her drink out and nearly sprayed Wyatt. Sidney patted his wife on her back and glared at Wyatt. Adora picked up her napkin to wipe her mouth and to hide her smile. Wyatt drank from his glass while smirking.
