Rauvald Telan, Ambrose's younger half-brother...
Rauvald (Rah-ū-vahld), or ‘Ray’ as his friends called him at the University, was born on October 23.
The Telan (Teh-lahn) family lived on the western coast of Ev, a land beyond the Impassable Sands north of Gillikin County and the Deadly Desert west of Winkie Country. They lived in a city called Trueirk.
Rauvald ‘Ray’ Telan is the younger half-brother of Ambrose Telan, the Advisor to the Queen of the Outer Zone. Like his older brother, Ray, is a scientist and works for the Royal Family of Ev. He is pompous and pragmatic. Ambrose and Ray have the same father, but different mothers. Ambrose’s mother died when he was a young boy. His father remarried three annuals later and Ray was born two annuals later.
The Land of Ev shares a unique bond with the Royal Family of the Outer Zone that dates back to Queen Ozma and Dorothy Gale. After the defeat of the Nome King, Ev was one land again. Ev is not known for it’s military might, but known for having the smartest scientists in all the Realms. Ambrose and Ray are no exception.
Ray pushed himself growing up. He lived in his brother’s shadow and that only pushed him to do better. He went to the University of Evna, located in the capital of Ev. He graduated nearly top of his class with honors, just a few points shy of Ambrose’s score.
When the Sorceress took over the Outer Zone, the border was closed and no one was allowed in or out. The Royal Family of Ev knew they wouldn’t be able to protect themselves should the Sorceress and her Longcoat army invade so they took every precaution they could.
Ray had to wait fifteen annuals before he could venture into the Outer Zone and search for his brother. During his journey, he came a cross a young man named, Tyler Cain.
