A moderate and fairly short hike though a beautiful area of Michigan brought us to the Devil's Soup Bowl. The hike itself was beautiful, but the location itself will be more scenic after the leaves fall, or before foliage leafs out in the spring.

I wrote this a few weeks ago, and held onto it to cheer me up on those first cold, windy days of autumn. Oh, there they are. If you walk this trail now, I'd imagine you'll be treated to some amazing fall colors.

I banged up my knee a little, probably last Friday when we did some hiking at the Portland Arch Nature Preserve, and then the Fall Creek Gorge Preserve, in West Central Indiana. Not a lot of bang; just a bit of pain and swelling, enough for my chiropractor to tell me I should stay off it for a little while.

Woke up early again. I've been feeling crappy the last few days: either an oncoming summer cold or a bad allergy attack (and/or lack of sleep).
