one-shot: "Slaygiving"

EIDT: Um ... if this seems familiar to anyone, it's because I've already posted it here, a couple of years ago. I meant to put this up on gen_storyteller, where I'm reposting my stories one by one ... sorry about that. But what the heck -- might as well leave it up here in case it's of interest to anyone who wasn't on my flist that far back. *sigh* It's been one ( Read more... )

Thanks! I'd meant to post this on gen_storyteller -- I'd already put it up here, years ago -- but if you liked it, then it all worked out for the best!

Ach! Tara back-from-the-dead fics make me cry. Your Bottie is a treasure--someone needs to drag Willow sometimes. And your Kennedy is less annoying than Kennedy tends to be. (I did not give her half the smacking around she deserved in my own fic). Well done as usual, Mark.

Thanks for posting this.

I always thought Kennedy was a pretty useful character, since stories would be boring if *some* of the people weren't annoying. :-) I still think she's wrong for Willow, but maybe Willow was subconsciously looking for someone who's as far from her past lovers as possible. In any case, I'm working under the theory that after staying with Willow for awhile, some of Kennedy's rougher edges are starting to soften.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed it! I wouldn't be able to maintain my membership in the fanfic writer's club if I couldn't find a way to bring Tara and Bottie back.

Thanks! You know, I posted this here by accident, but now I'm glad I did -- it hasn't been a great week, so I needed a little "up".

Sorry to hear it's been a bad week man.

Is it the weather and the sads or have things in general just been bad?

Isn't the weather enough? :-) I had to shovel snow for the first time this season, Sunday afternoon -- and when I got out of bed Sunday night, it was sleeting.

But there's also the fact that I've been madly trying to get stuff done, and there's always something interfering. Not to mention something breaking, or breaking me, as in when I fell over the vacuum cleaner and both happened. Cleaning the carpets was a huge thing: Every time I'd plan for a day to do it something would come up. The last straw was Friday, when I finally fired up Vinny's carpet cleaner and it stopped working within minutes; it took an afternoon for Vinny to get it fixed. Sunday I spent the whole day (after shoveling) cleaning house, and then I get ready to go to work Sunday night and the car won't start. Now I'm at work, and the car is sitting there at home with -- something -- wrong with it. And I'm supposed to leave in three days to pick up Emily.

So yeah, I'm stressed. But otherwise, everything's fine. :-)
