There is a memorable scene between her and werewolf boy in which she is needlessly vicious to someone who has done her nothing but good -- she wouldn't be Bella if she had a spark of human compassion or feeling for any person other than herself and her alpha-male Edward. Tammy and I were having a discussion about Bella from the revolting Twilight series, which wouldn't be half as revolting if not for this character.  She is possibly the most selfish protagonist to have ever existed in a widely accepted fictional series who's selfishness is never labelled as a problem.  In fact, it's romanticized.

Is it a stretch to say Twilght is as Bad For America as "Health Care Reform?"

Now that I've managed to push some buttons.... :)
