The Little Brother Saga

Jan 02, 2003 14:01

Well, Kenny has his arraignment today and we'll see how things go. He doesn't have to appear in court, everything is going to be done over the phone. The judge will rule on a bail to be set, but I don't think my parents intend on getting him out of juvenile hall just yet. His stay there may be good for him.

On a positive note, my mom got a phone call this morning from Stream a company at which she applied for a job. They offered her a tech-support position with training starting on Monday -- it's hard to imagine my technologically-challenged mom working in a computer-based tech support job, but I'm proud of her (especially that she got a job at world-wide tech company). Up until now my family has just been living off of their savings since they moved out here to Montana.

It's now 2003, and my contract with NLI goes in to effect. Also means that I'm gonna start getting PAID (money is always a good thing). :-) The work we have ahead of us is exciting, even though it's going to be very time-consuming. Our current task is to prepare for the grand opening of our new office in Suisun on the 31st. There's tons to do before that date.

I got an email last night from Esther Dungan, with the New Technology Foundation. Esther started working at NTF while I was a senior in HS, and I worked closely with her while I was the director of tours and institutes. The email was a job offer at NTF and NTHS (my old HS). I find it flattering that I graduated from the school two years ago, and now I'm being offered a job there and at its foundation. I'm going to meet with Esther and the CEO for some brainstorming, although I obviously can't accept a job there.

Well, that's all for now. I'll post more about Kenny when I find out more info. Thanks to those of you who've called me and stuff, and those of you who talked to me on the phone that night. I appreciate it greatly. <3
