I checked my mail a few minutes ago, and I got a letter with a return address from "Olive Garden Claims Administrator". I opened up the letter, and it's a class action lawsuit against Olive Garden, claiming that the restaurant did not allow meal periods/rest breaks and that they did not reimburse for the cost of uniform purchases (which is apparently mandated by CA state law, which I was unaware of).
The total settlement amount is close to $3 million (after attorney fees) and will be distributed based on the number of workweeks worked for the company within a certain timeframe (according to the company I worked 96 workweeks in the given time). I know that the actual settlement amount that I'll receive won't likely be that much since SO many people have been employed by Olive Garden in the last 6 years ... but oh well.
