School

I'm becoming increasingly sure that I will not be attending college this semester. It will be difficult enough to get the classes that I need due to the fact that I won't be able to register until after I take my WPE (which at the earliest will be the first week of August, and my registration date has already passed). I have a lot that I need to do for school -- I've been out of HS for 4 years and have been attending college for three years, and at present I don't know what I still need to do to graduate. Actually, my major is not even declared. I still have to design my special major and get it approved by the college. That's going to take some work, and I need to meet with Dr. Pomo (my film professor) to discuss what I need to do.

I'd also like to explore the idea of being a "road warrior" for MP as I mentioned in a previous post, and taking a semester off would help me be able to do this.

I know that a lot of people will argue that I shouldn't take a semester off, and I know that my mom won't be happy about it at all (hell, I remember how adamant she was that I attend college during the year after HS where I was not enrolled). Still, I think it'd be in my best interest to do it.

At the very least, I don't think I'll be attending full-time. Maybe I'll take two classes ...

All that said ...

I purchased some more concert tickets yesterday:

Ted Leo/Pharmacists at Bimbo's on September 7th
The New Pornographers at Bimbo's on September 27th and 28th

I just found out today that the Arcade Fire will be playing the Warfield on September 18th. Tickets go on sale on Sunday, and I'm sure I'll be buying some. They cost $25, which is a far cry from the $8 that I saw them for the first time! Oh, what a little hype (okay, a lot) can do!

Decemberists tickets also go on sale on Sunday for their September 11th and 12th shows at the Fillmore. I very much want to go, but Lyndsay has invited me to Las Vegas with her for her 21st birthday (which is on the 11th). If I can afford to make that trip, then I'll be missing the Decemberists' shows.

Xiu Xiu is also playing on the 24th of September, and I'd like to see him again.

I think that's all for now.
