Good weekend. On Friday afternoon, Lucy and I went to Coffee Sue's coffee shop and then recorded the most epic vlog we have ever recorded. Lucy hasn't uploaded it yet. If you're Lucy, you should get on that. If you are anyone else, you should just
check periodically until you notice that the latest vlog, Vlog 8, has been uploaded, and in the mean time, catch up on any you may have missed. Anyway we ran around the park ranting about how we should play imagination games more often.
After that I walked to Sean's and hung out with him and River, then Thea and Zane arrived and we played six heated rounds of Scattergories and watched that voice-over of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone with the comical guy who makes comical comments. The whole thing. It's funny at first, but if you've ever seen it, you may know that to actually sit through the whole thing is a considerable accomplishment. Then around 1 AM we set out for Fourthmeal at Taco Bell. Our plan was that Thea would drive us there and we would walk back, but instead Thea just drove to her house and then was like, "OMG, Meli, do you want to meet my three-legged cat?!" And how could I resist? So we went inside, and ended up playing an intense three-hour game of boys vs. girls Taboo. And then it was 4:30 AM so we crashed there and ate Annie's Mac 'N Cheese. Then, yeah, I didn't sleep much.... ^^
On Saturday around noon I finally convinced Sean and River to wake up and we walked back to Sean's house. River and Sean were boffering, but I was ready to leave, so I suggested (sarcastically) that one of them should constantly retreat and the other should constantly advance, and they should fight all the way home. And, of course, they did that. Then I went to meet Lucy at the Saturday Market but she still had to work for a long time because it was so sunny that everyone wanted to buy lots and lots of lemonade and berry coolers, so I went back to my dorm for a bit and read and napped and took a much-needed shower. Then Lucy came over and we were planning to go to the play at South, but we biked there and it was sold out and my bike was acting up again, as it often does, and Sean and River came and fixed my bike and we got Sunny Delight and went back to Sean's. I think we played Wii Fit and Scattergories and watched Harry Potter because for some reason River hadn't seen any of them after the third one? You might ask, "Didn't you just watch both of those movies two days ago?" And the answer would be yes. It's like Nietzsche's Eternal Return, a little bit. And then halfway through Harry Potter 5, I went off to bed in a pitch-black room and things happened to me in my life until the room was no longer pitch-black that caused me to think during those moments, "Heck yes I would relive this moment into infinity." So, according to Nietzsche, I must have been living my life right.
The next morning I talked to Lucy about the conversation that she had just had with Sean. One time Charlie and I had this intense conversation and he said he thought two of my guy friends liked me. I told him that just because he thought I was awesome didn't mean that everyone thought I was that awesome. Later when I became friends with Wispra on LJ, I found out he had been right about one of them. On Sunday morning, I found out he had been right about the other one. When I was in that awkward beginning stage of dating Charlie, Sean said something like that he could see me dating him before he could see me dating Charlie. Lucy told me he had brought that up when he was talking to her about how long he had liked me. Of course I had remembered him saying that to me, but I thought because he was a boy and boys have no memory of things that happened between us and are actually important, he didn't remember it. But he did remember it. Holy shit, that was nearly two years ago. And then at the beach house... and then sometimes these looks he would give me, and I would contemplate whether they meant anything or whether it was just him being his awkwardly chivalrous self, and conclude it was the latter and it meant nothing, and now I found out I may have been right in my instincts??! Confusion.
Anyway on Sunday I went to work and made very many smoothies because it was so nice out, then went back to Sean's (again) for barbecuing hot dogs and frisbee and Lucy and I wore pretty, semi-matching dresses.
Yesterday was more beautiful weather and even though I slept for ten hours straight, I was totally surprised when it was time to get up. I wore another pretty dress and forgot to wear sunscreen. But Lucy and I went to Clothes Horse (where they know us now as those girls who always come in and try on 23409733 things and have so much fun and try not to buy anything, but always end up buying something between the two of them) and did all that. Then I went to a safety class for my work and then, instead of starting to read St. Augustine's Confessions, I went to frolick and listen to music on the swing at the park behind Prince Puckler's and worsened my sunburn. Also I walked around barefoot a lot. Being barefoot is awesome.
Even though I have a lot of difficult homework to do this week and next week, I have a lot of good things to look forward to as well:
Today is Ben & Jerry's Free Ice Cream Day. Tomorrow is Fleet Foxes concert. Thursday is opening night of Welcome Back, America, Lucy's play. This weekend Ally is coming down for Lucy's play and to celebrate her birthday. In sum, HOORAY!
