"What's wrong with you, then?" Katie looks at you through the mirror while she finishes painting her lips a shining red that matches both of your freshly dyed hair. Your arms tighten involuntarily where they're crossed in front of your chest and you feel your frown deepen.

"I don't like him, Katie." Her laugh is abrupt and her face shows something almost akin to confusion as she turns to you.

"You never like any of them." She crosses her arms and you wish - as you sometimes do - that the parts of you that are, weren't so alike.

"Yeah, well," you say quietly, eyes falling to the ground and cheek twitching into a semi-gimace. "They're not good for you."

There's silence for a few moments. Katie's words are a sigh when she speaks.

"And you are?" Your focus shifts to her feet as you shrug and your eyes can't help but trace a familiar path up her legs, past half bare thighs and over pushed up and exposed breasts that are twice the size of yours normally let alone on nights when she dresses up like this. You linger on her neck and take a step forward, entranced, hand reaching up to brush over her shoulder. "We can't keep doing this, Em." The fear in her voice almost covers the waver your touch has always brought about.

Your eyes meet hers and you bring a hand to caress her cheek. "I know." So you kiss her. Just like you did that first time. Gentle and careful and symetrical. The only way Katie's blotted her lipstick for years. Your tongue peeks out before you can think to pull away or stop but her hands grip your waist to hold you in place.

She shifts forward and you feel her imprint on you. Her mouth opens yours and she breathes warmth into your core. Her thigh slips between your legs and stays motinless. "This is the last time," she says between kisses.

"Yeah," you murmer, getting lost in her all over again.

"I love you, but - "

"Yeah,"

You push away at the same time and both of you struggle to return your breathing to normal. You stare at each other through the loud knock at your door and the obnoxious entry of Katie's date for the night.

"Whoh-ay, Kates, this your sister then?"

"Em," it's supposed to be something of an appology to you but you ignore it. "Let's go." She says, eyes still lingering on you.

"Your lipstick's a bit smudged there, Katie," he says and reaches to rub at her lips with a thumb. You watch as she jerks back.

"I'm not not perfect, you know," is the last thing she says before walking out and leaving you.

"Well," you mutter in the silence to yourself. "Time for plan B."

I meant to comment on this right after I read it but I ended up accidentally closing the tab and then forgot I hadn't replied!

Anyway, I love this. I love the implication that this isn't the first time they've done this. And I love how Katie's really completely okay with this, which is how I will always see her. Thank you so much! ♥

You have no idea how often that happens to me. Don't worry about it.

And you're welcome! I wasn't too happy with the end (plan B was supposed to be jealousy/Naomi but I couldn't figure out how to say it without slapping a reader in the face with it.

Anyway, thanks for entertaining us with your fics forever.
