God help him, the girl looked like she could take Jayne down without even breaking a sweat. After a moment Mal realised he already knew a girl who could do that, but this one looked nothing like River; brought to mind Inara with the lipstick and the little shirt she was wearing, and Zoe with the huge shotgun she was holdin' on him, but really, there was something about her that was all her. All weird and wild, and caressing the shotgun like it was purring under her hand. Mal gulped.

"I just killed three guys," she said conversationally. "They tried to rob me, or rape me, or something."

Mal nodded minutely, hoping that's the polite reply the deadly little woman was looking for.

"Anything like that in your plans?"

"No," he said quickly. Then slower, trying to sound genuine. "I'm the good guys."

"That's good," she smiled and put the gun down, and Mal dared to breathe. "Cause a fight always makes me really horny. You ever noticed that?"

Mal had to admit that yeah, he did, and there were many a lonely night after a fight when even his hand and the panties he found accidentally on the floor of Inara's shuttle and kept and meant to tell her but somehow never got round to it, weren't enough. Seemed like this girl knew what he was talking about, because she nodded and took her shirt off. Mal stared at her breasts.
