COLORADO WAS AWESOME! (Saturday)

The morning started with brunch at the rented house. Oh, that was delish: French toast, pancakes, fruit, bagels, OJ, coffee...

Also we got to socialize more with the group (Mark, Luke, Kristin, Ben, Easter, Josh, Caroline) and James and Jamie. Yay! They quickly left for Denver and a brewery tour somewhere.

We did some downtown walking again. We had some Subway for lunch and brought it back to eat it (slightly against the rules) in the Breakfast Room in the hotel. Then we went to Josh/Easter/Caroline’s room for … PowerGrid. I won!! I had help, but I won! After a 10 minute break, we went off to Garden of the Gods... Oh, that was so pretty. So much walking! So much water! So many pictures. I think I took about 300 pictures there! There were also some very nice people at the beginning of the trail who offered to take a group picture of us on Easter’s phone. We got to talking about the woman’s knee surgery and how well she was walking and things. She was nice.

After the walking was done, we drove around to try and find the Giant’s Footsteps or something like that. Then we also went to the Trading Post gift show. I got fudge to eat later. Also while I was there, some guy bought a stuffed rattlesnake skin for $1500!!

We were thinking that we’d have supper with Joanna, but when we went to the hotel we found out she was going out with Pleasant and his friend Whitney. Instead the 5.5 (Easter, Josh, Caroline, Ben, Kristin, and me) went out to the Black Eyed Peas restaurant which Josh and Easter had been to when they last came to the area. That was also good food; I had pork chops, peppered mashed potatoes, and grilled corn (which should have been called corn on the cob). We also had cornbread and rolls beforehand, so I couldn’t finish it. I put it in the hotel fridge. Kristin couldn’t start hers and she stared at her food. (Altitude didn’t do well for her.) Ben and her left early.

I came back with Josh and Easter and the baby. Easter and I walked up to my room so we could give Kristin some cough drops. Also I used the time to talk to her about some newfound stuff with me. I really really love my friends. Acceptance is a huge thing. The support I get from my friends, especially her as my adopted sister, is amazing.

friends, manitou springs, visit, colorado
