The kitties went to him just before he passed and sat with him until they came to get him. Butch was crying. Dad was his person.

As I read your poignant entry I recognized without knowing a familiar spirit. Oh God. It's you. It was your father. The realization washed over me. The reality of your loss. Toni, I grieve with you, babe. Such sorrow. Such bitter joy. I'm so glad you were blessed to be with him as he transitioned. I'm so glad you had that time with him this summer when you went to Montana. You are forever changed by his death, as you were molded by his life.

You are spinning in space, disconnected from everything you know. Your perspective of your being has been altered. You have many moments, days, and years ahead to question who you are and who he was to and for you.

My heart breaks for you. I can not even fathom losing my "Daddy" because he is immortal, as I'm sure yours is.

Just know I love you and who you are and who you will become.

Awww thank you! That's very sweet.

I'm glad to be back into my schedule. Things have been disjointed, spending most of my free time in Fort Worth. But I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The funeral was last Wednesday and we had a great celebration of his life with good friends and family.

Send some prayers to my mom. She took the last of her guests to the airport today. So she will be hitting some ups and downs transitioning into what her new sense of normalcy is becoming. They spent 42 years together. She knows how to be strong and independent, but dad was the love of her life and they built a wonderful life together. He just gets to live on differently now.

I need some R&R in the country Mama Moon!
I love you too
Toni
