I just got home from Savannah (GA), where my wife was (drum-roll, please) a delegate to the Republican State Convention!
WOW!
My liberal friends would poop their drawers to be where I was over the last three days....
I'll not tell all now, it'll take up too much space but if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
We had a GREAT time in Savannah. Not only was the convention happening but The Shakespeare Festival (yes, Michael, there were a few Southern accents...you would have died laughing), The Seafood Festival (cheap, fresh, AND you could carry your beer from festivity to festivity) and the Jazz Festival (lots of Zydeco, progressive and jazz/fusion...a really interesting group was from Peru...guitar, a 10 stringed ukulele type instrument and a wizard on wooden and pan flutes ...I thought it was a synthesizer when I first heard him...) were all happening at once, all on River Street (a barely mile long, riverside cobblestone drive circa 1841).
The convention was interesting. Jeb Bush was the featured speaker. I'm pretty much a middle of the road voter, so I wasn't really a follower of the Bush Clan but I gotta tell ya.....Jeb is as articulate and quick witted as Bill Clinton, folksy when he's gotta be and a crowd pleaser the rest of the time. If I were a Democratic leader, I'd be very wary of him.
Nice to be home....I'll do my best to answer any questions with impartiality. I talked to at least 100 people while there and I found out LOTS of stuff.......
I'm pooped...I've driven from Savannah to Chattanooga (my hometown, Mom's) and back to Atlanta. I'm going to have a glass of wine and chill.....
Later.
