Hell Week
This is the week of preparation or the Christmas Extravaganza. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with celebrating the birth of whom I believe to be The Savior of the World, but creating the fleshly pagentry can be a bit of a pain.
Smoke machines....for dramatic effect. Good enough if they, #1. work, #2. have a qualified operator, #3. have enough dry ice to get through two preformances.
Snow machines.....again for dramatic effect. Basically, bubbles being blown from the ceiling. They just can't fall on the orchestra. Soapy violins aren't necessarily squeaky clean.
Wireless mics.....it's like saying, " Please screw up and make me look foolish".
Oh....I miss Pacobelle. To paraphrase Karen Carpenter, "We'd Only Just Begun......"
