I've spent the last few days in South Wales doing gigs for Silky and one which I will be co-running with Henry from March time (hopefully). I stayed in Swansea in a lovely B&B called "Leonardo's". I say lovely, I didn't get much sleep because it was right on a busy dual carriageway (apparently it's an area of Swansea renowned for drug dealers and other trouble-makers). I didn't realise this until I was told afterwards but it would seem walking along the road to Tescos at 2 am wasn't the best idea I ever had. The other bad part of the hotel was that when I tried to make a cup of tea the little milk carton was absolutely solid and dropped into my tea like an alka-seltzer! It was discusting. The gigs for Silky were great, one in Pontardawe and one in Narberth.

Pontardawe was in a lovely Arts Centre theatre, I was a little nervous but I don't think it showed. The gig went really well and afterwards we had a drink in the bar and chatted before I went back to Swansea. Narberth was at the Queen's Hall - quite a prestigious venue (lots of cool bands play there). Narberth was a nice place, quite posh and very pretty. It's twinned with Ludlow which I thought was odd. I couldn't get into the venue when I got there because it was so busy so I went for a drink in the pub next door instead. The gig was beautiful, one of the nicest gigs I've played this year. I videoed both the gigs so I'll be putting them online as soon as I work out how to get it onto my computer. My favourite parts of the two days were when someone compred my cartoons to Gary Larson (high praise indeed!) and when someone told Andrew O'Neill he was weird and then turned to me and said "but you're even weirder!"

I'm looking forward to my future in comedy, I'm gradually getting weirder and becoming more of the act I want to be.

Finally on the way back to Mid-Wales I stopped off in Abergavenny to MC a gig. It was quiet, and very hard work at the start. I'm no where near as confident MCing as I am doing a set so the practice will do me good. My first 10 or so was not good, it had its moments but I didn't take charge enough. I got better when I relaxed a bit later but it still needed a lot of work. The acts all did pretty well considering the small audience and lack of energy in the room but there were a lovely folky couple in who said they'd help advertise the gig when we restart in March. The weirdest part of the gig was when one of the newer acts just left and Henry got a text saying he couldn't face doing the gig with that small an audience. A bit rubbish really -- he could have at least told us face-to-face.

In other news, I've recently got a job for a company that specialise in IT Asset Management. I'm actually a shareholder so my pay will be based on the profits the company makes so it remains to be seem how much money I make. I've become responsible for the graphics and artwork for the company as well as doing programming and that sort of thing. Here is the E-Christmas card I've designed for them:
