I have so many people to talk to on LJ. (Read: Reply comments, Lydia...)

Anyway I was thinking.

How important is Arashi to me, exactly? Haha...

I blog about them a lot. I don't think I'm obsessed though. It's just that they give me a lot of room for commentary. It's like an academic topic. I admit I am attached to them, but I don't revolve my life ( Read more... )

(nods) we are geeks. and we love it. XD

ah, i haven't met anyone with CP yet, but one of my lecturers back in school, whom i'm pretty close to, has a son with CP and he was the one who got me interested in it.

my childhood friend has autism and growing up with him influenced me somehow to be a special needs teacher. though the driving force was that there was a great need in singapore for spec ed educators, and i only realised this when a close friend from church found that the baby his wife was expecting has Down's.

i set out to be a spec ed teacher in 2006, though what i was studying at the time didn't have anything to do with my job -_- in 2007 i volunteered during holidays at a school for autism, and in 2008, upon graduation, i taught at said school for six months before going to university and studying something totally unrelated to spec ed. (ironically it's what i used to study back in school, before i taught.) sigh. i sometimes wonder how this happened. but i guess everything has a purpose.

autism is fascinating, though it can be frustrating for the person who has it. i can't say this enough. i would want to work with people with autism my whole life if i could. but somehow i sense that right now, God seems to be directing me in other directions.

sorry i'm like spewing at you. XD i find that with you it's very easy to share about stuff like that... haha.

we love being geeky very much XD

two of my best friends (who are sisters, and my "sisters") have 2 cousins with autism, but I don't get to see them often because they live further away. But I don't think I've met anyone with Down's before. I'm not familiar with spec. ed. in the US, but we probably have a lot more support for things like CP and Down's (although not always good ones).

Yeah, the important thing is being where God wants you to be. and lol that's perfectly fine, spew away XD I'm up for talking whenever you want to ^^

well, except right now, because it's 12:30am and I don't want to be completely braindead during church XD
