TITLE: Driving Lessons
RATING: PG
GENRE: Humour
CHARACTERS: Driving Impaired!Eeteuk, Teacher!Kangin, Alien Obsessed!Eunhae
SUMMARY: Eeteuk is quite possibly the worst driver in the world. Kangin gives him some very “helpful” pointers.
A/N: Yes, all of Eeteuk’s driving incidents have happened to me -_-“ minus getting stuck with Kangin as a teacher =P And Rokugo is the most distracting song to drive to, I must say. XD
“YOU’RE GOING TOO FAST!”
“No, I’m not!”
“YES, YOU ARE! That right turn was going way-OHDEARGOD! DID YOU NOT SEE THAT SQUIRREL?”
“That was not a squirrel! That was just a big ball of black fluff!”
“…”
“…”
“It was a squirrel.”
“I think I know what squirrels look li-”
“KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD!”
“Rokugo! Rokugo! Rokugo! Marhe mar!”
Kangin turned around to glare at Eunhyuk and Donghae in the back seat. “BE QUIET!” The two boys shrunk back in their seats, but still hummed the tune quietly.
He then turned to look at the driver beside him. He didn’t think Eeteuk was THIS bad at driving. And, he wasn’t really sure why he chose to risk his life on this particular day and give Eeteuk some pointers on driving, or why Donghae and Eunhyuk had decided to come along.
In a span of 15 minutes, Eeteuk had managed to run a red light, nearly crashed into a house (he drove up onto the curb, on the sidewalk and up onto the lawn and stopped a mere meter away from the house itself), several crude shouts from pedestrians (he was called GOD DAMN IDIOT three times, CRAZY another two times and BASTARD five times), and now he almost hit a squirrel.
Kangin had never felt this stressed, scared, annoyed and anxious in his life. It was one thing to feel just ONE of those feelings, but all four? It was simply unheard of. But, when driving with Eeteuk, it was second nature. He was pretty sure his blood pressure had quadrupled in the last 15 minutes, and his patience probably had the same effect as well, but with Donghae and Eunhyuk singing Rokugo in the backseat repeatedly, it was expected.
“STOP!!!!!!! PRESS THE BRAKES!”
“I AM!”
“PRESS IT HARDER!”
The minute Kangin said those two words, he knew he would regret them. Eeteuk pressed down on the brake pedal with all his strength. This emitted a loud “SCREEECHHHHHH” sound and all the passengers in the car almost being thrown out.
All the occupants in the car were in complete silence, save for the extremely loud and increase beating of their hearts. After a full minute of silence, Donghae and Eunhyuk glanced at one another, and burst out laughing.
Kangin turned to glare at the two boys. Crazy, that’s what they were. They almost died because of Eeteuk’s driving (if you could even call it that), and they were LAUGHING and now they were playfully poking one another. Eeteuk was still staring straight ahead with wide eyes, and his hands clutching onto the steering wheel for dear life. Then, he started to laugh just as insanely as Donghae and Eunhyuk. Yep, the world had gone insane, well at least everyone in the car was.
The two boys in the back ceased their laughing immediately when they heard Eeteuk’s laugh. They looked at one another and shrugged.
“I think umma has gone crazy,” Eunhyuk whispered to Donghae.
Donghae nodded and did the universal “he’s crazy” sign. “The aliens have gotten to him.”
“But how? Kangin is always there by his side, at night,”
“Maybe, the aliens thought that umma was prettier and would rather have him as an experimenting specimen,”
“That’s true, or the aliens could have gotten to them both,”
The two boys looked at one another and then to their band umma and appa, who were possibly NOT their band umma and appa but instead alien imposters. The two realized the situation they were in and quickly unbuckled their seatbelts.
“I think that we will-” Eunhyuk started to open the door.
“-walk the rest of the way home, you know, we’d like some- ” Donghae slipped out of the car.
“-exercise! Dancing is good and all, but there’s nothing like- ” Eunhyuk had escaped from the inside.
“-like fresh air and birds singing!” Donghae exclaimed, as he slammed the door shut.
With that, the two boys took off on a run to get far, far, far away from the “imposters”.
Kangin made a curious face at Eunhyuk and Donghae, who were running at quite an impressive speed. Did they not realize that they were in the middle of a forested area, and that by the time that they reached any sort of civilization, it would be at least 2 hours? Kangin shook his head. He would never understand them. He gave them about an hour before they would come running back.
Eeteuk’s unique laugh suddenly caught Kangin’s attention fully. He slightly moved away from Eeteuk. His insane laughter was a bit scary. His wild laughter eventually subsided, and silence invaded the car once again
“Err …,” Kangin began, when he saw Eeteuk’s pout, “are you okay, Eeteuk?”
Eeteuk slammed his hands on the steering wheel with all his might, in reply, which made Kangin jump and become even more scared than he already was.
“I can’t do this! I can’t drive!” he said anxiously, and turned to look at Kangin with wide eyes.
Kangin recovered from his fearful stance, and moved a bit closer to Eeteuk. “It’s okay, you just need more practice, and you can’t be stressed while driving!”
Eeteuk sighed heavily.
“Plus, I’m the best driving teacher that you can find!”
Eeteuk smiled and turned back to the wheel. He pressed on the gas pedal, but nothing happened. He tried again, but the same result occurred.
“Uh oh,” Kangin pointed to the arrow that was directly on the ‘E’, “I think we’re out of gas.”
“Aigoo~” was all that Eeteuk could say in reply. “I really am the worst driver in the world.”
“I’ll go call someone,” Kangin felt around for his cell phone, but to his horror, it wasn’t in his pockets, at all. “Do you have yours?”
In response, he gave Kangin an anxious look before looking in his jean pockets and jacket, but came up with nothing.
“Aish~” Eeteuk cried out, and placed his head on the steering wheel. “I told Donghae and Eunhyuk to bring their cell phones, but I didn’t even bring my own, and now they’re out running with the wolves or getting abducted by a UFO most likely.” He knocked his head lightly against the steering wheel several times.
Kangin reached over to stop him, but retreated his hand, but then reached again, and ended up repeating the process several times. It really wasn’t a good idea to interrupt Eeteuk when he was in a self-pity mood.
Eeteuk suddenly looked up. “Ah, I’m so stressed!” he ruffled his hair in anger. “Okay, let’s go find Donghae and Eunhyuk and get out of here.”
Kangin was about to follow suit of getting out of the car, but an idea suddenly came to him. He grabbed Eeteuk’s arm, preventing him from leaving the car. “You know, I may be the best driving teacher in the world,” he said cockily, while Eeteuk gave him a genuinely confused look. “But, back in school, my lessons were best taught in the back seat of a car.”
Eeteuk looked from Kangin’s suggestive gaze to the back seat and then back to Kangin.
“You really can’t accomplish anything when you’re stressed anyways,” Kangin said, “plus, Donghae and Eunhyuk will show up in about an hour, so there’s no point in looking for them.”
Eeteuk gave him a look that clearly said, “You shouldn’t even be thinking about this!”
“We have to reduce your stress level, Teukie,” he argued, “or you’ll never become a good driver.”
Eeteuk narrowed his eyes, but there was a playfulness behind it. “Well … if it’ll make me become a better driver …” he moved to get out of the car and to the back seat.
“Of course! After this, you’ll become the best driver,” Kangin replied, as he climbed into the back.
“I hope so,” Eeteuk said, as he tried to get comfortable, “I’d hate for you to waste your time and not get any results from me.”
“Of course, not,” he murmured, leaning in closer to Eeteuk. “It’s no trouble, at all.” With that said, he leaned in fully and covered Eeteuk’s mouth with his own.
Exactly one hour later, Eunhyuk and Donghae came running back to the car (they were willing to risk being attacked by their umma and appa imposters). They came back to a very steam filled and locked car. Donghae tried knocking on the windows, but the only response he got was a growl from Kangin and a very high pitch squeal from Eeteuk.
“He must be giving some very good driving pointers,” Eunhyuk said.
Donghae smirked in reply.
